Welcome to fall of 2012! Charla is studying at Florida State University, and Chase's Alaskan work schedule allows for time off in the fall. The best way to spend time together (and seek out sun and sand before a long Alaskan winter) is for the two of them to spend the fall in Tallahassee, Florida, and in the surrounding areas. Tallahassee is typically not the type of place one thinks of as a hotbed of activity; however, there are countless rivers and more first-magnitude springs here than any other state for paddling and kayaking, some of the world's nicest beaches along the Gulf of Mexico, the 1,400-mile-long hiking adventure of the Florida Trail, and a number of national, state, and local wildlife refuges, as well as history from the Spanish landings in the 1500s up to current proceedings at the Florida Supreme Court. It's a hard place to be bored!
